Do I need a licence to rent the Self Drive XL?
Yes. The Self Drive XL requires a Basic Navigation Licence (Licencia de Navegación) or an equivalent licence accepted in Spain. If you’re unsure whether your licence is valid, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
Do I need previous boating experience?
No extensive experience is required. Before departure, we’ll provide a comprehensive safety briefing, explain how the boat works, show you the best routes and make sure you feel confident before leaving the marina.
How many people can the boat accommodate?
The Self Drive XL is licensed for up to 6 guests. For the most comfortable experience, we recommend up to 4 adults, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the spacious sunbathing areas. Families with children can comfortably make use of the full capacity.
Where do we depart from?
All rentals depart from Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, on Mallorca’s beautiful south coast. We’ll send you the exact meeting point via WhatsApp before your arrival. Public parking is available just outside the marina, and you can drive inside for up to 15 minutes to load and unload your belongings.
What rental durations are available?
You can choose between a 4-hour half-day rental or an 8-hour full-day rental, giving you plenty of time to discover Mallorca’s spectacular south coast at your own pace.
Is fuel included?
Fuel is charged according to your actual consumption. As a guide, most guests spend approximately €30 for a 4-hour rental and around €60 for a full-day rental, depending on sea conditions, cruising speed and the distance travelled.

The Self Drive XL is perfect for exploring Mallorca’s spectacular south coast. Depending on sea conditions and your rental duration, you can visit Es Trenc, Ses Covetes, Es Carbó, Cap Blanc, Es Caragol and many hidden coves along the coastline. Before departure, we’ll recommend the best route based on the weather and sea conditions, helping you make the most of your day on the water.
Can I choose my own route?
Absolutely. Within the permitted navigation area, you’re free to explore at your own pace. Anchor in secluded coves, swim in crystal-clear waters or simply relax and enjoy the freedom of being your own captain.
Is the Self Drive XL suitable for families?
Yes. The Self Drive XL is an excellent choice for couples, families and small groups. Its spacious layout, stable hull and easy access to the water make it comfortable and enjoyable for guests of all ages.
Is the boat insured?
Yes. The Self Drive XL is fully insured, including mandatory passenger liability insurance. Before departure, we’ll explain the safety equipment on board and everything you need to know for a safe and relaxing day at sea.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes. A 300€ refundable security deposit is required before departure. It will be returned in full once the boat has been inspected and confirmed to be in the same condition as when it left the marina.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your safety is our priority. If weather or sea conditions make navigation unsafe, you can reschedule your booking or receive a full refund.
What is your booking and cancellation policy?
You can secure your booking with a 20% deposit or pay the full amount when booking. Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before departure. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the rental are non-refundable.
